Umut Ertuğrul Daşgın is an Undergraduate Research Assistant at PerSystLab, where he works on an AI-based educational reporting system built around local LLM summarization. His focus lies at the intersection of language models, data privacy, and practical system design, particularly in contexts where sensitive data requires controlled, on-device processing.
His broader work spans NLP dataset construction, full-stack and mobile development, and building software that reaches real users. Beyond his current research, he is drawn to low-latency systems and quantitative development as longer-term areas of interest.
