ISPF Event Participation
We participated in the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF) Event organized by the UK Science and Technology Network.
Our Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Sina Ercan, shared insights into the Multisensory Extended Reality-Based Telesurgery Project during the event held on 6 November 2025.
About the Project
The project aims to develop an advanced infrastructure that enables surgeons from different countries to participate in operations simultaneously by using:
- Extended Reality (XR) Technologies for immersive surgical visualization
- Multisensory Interaction Systems providing enhanced visual and tactile feedback
- Remote Collaboration Tools enabling real-time participation across borders
This innovative approach allows doctors from different countries to simultaneously participate in surgical operations while receiving haptic and visual feedback through an advanced infrastructure.
International Collaboration
The ISPF initiative is designed to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers in the United Kingdom and other countries and to enhance global scientific capacity through knowledge exchange.
Bringing together leading scientists, researchers, and technology pioneers, this international platform once again highlighted Yeditepe University’s vision and commitment to advancing science globally.
We congratulate Prof. Dr. Sina Ercan and wish him continued success in this groundbreaking research.
